For The Ferret Ladies

Romance Divas, here’s to you!

Her Cinderella Complex by Jenna Bayley-Burke

She’s got the man—and the wedding—of her dreams. If only love were part of the fantasy.

Heather Tindall is temping as a personal assistant until her dream job as an event planner comes along. Worse, her new boss has a penchant of running off new assistants before lunch. Heather’s not about to let her spotless employment record be ruined by a real estate mogul with an attitude problem, no matter how well he fills out a suit.

At first Curtis can’t believe the nerve of the woman who refuses his order to leave. Six months into their working relationship, her dedication still manages to surprise him. But her best efforts to protect his personal life can’t keep the press from seeing him as anything more than a playboy. Then it dawns on him that the perfect solution is right under his appointment book—Heather.
Swept off her kitten heels, Heather can’t help but accept the proposal of the man with whom she’s fallen in love. She hopes that in time he’ll come to feel something for her.

Curtis is determined not to feel anything, for anyone, ever. He’ll do anything Heather wants—but he’s not going to fall in love with her.

Except that will never do for a girl with a Cinderella Complex…

Searching

I have been researching the business online, and trying to get as much info as I can about publishing.  There’s a lot out there. It’s been hindering my writing…I know, excuses, excuses. 🙂  After this post, I’m writing, woot woot!

My  baby, that goes by The Clan Wars for now, has not moved in days. I’m about 10k in, and need to add the time frame and some other changes. I just need a kick in the a** and get a move on. I could have continued writing, but it would have been way to much work later. Due to the Lust Bites Flash contest, I started a contemporary called Flame Resistant. On that note, I realize that my little flash doesn’t have a chance in hell of winning, lol. It’s way to tame for them I think. I still love ’em!  Flame Resistant is flowing smoothly, but strangely. I’m not writing in order, but it’s kind of cool though. Its almost at 4k. I sent a snippet to my SIL, and she’s now waiting patiently for the sex scene.  Then I have another, Talia’s Tryst. It’s only at 300 out 30,000. It’s going to be naughty and fun!  I will only work that when in the appropriate mood. For one the thing, I can’t have my kids goofing off while I’m trying to write nasty, it doesn’t quite work out.

Thats about all for now. Have a great night.

A Lust Session

First, I guess that I should say that I lied. My next post is not about dazzling anyone with description.(well, not the exercise anyway!) While getting to know Romance Diva’s site, I found a link for a contest. It is over at Lust Bites, and I had to write a 100 word sexy story. I went over at first, but I cut out everything leading up to the big sexy moment, and just left the sizzle. (I hope, lol) I also had to cut out some of the sizzle, but not too much. Not sure if it’s what they wanted, but it was still fun to write! I will share with you what I submitted. It’s short and to the point.

A Lust Session

He lifted her onto the counter. She raised her head for his kiss, and licked his bottom lip, nibbled it, and then he took over, kissing her hard. He slid his hands up her thighs, her sides, then pulled her dress over her head. She unbuckled his jeans and felt his hardness and shivered. Just as he took her hard nipple into his mouth, he pulled her onto him, sliding deep inside her wetness. Feeling her nails dig into his shoulders, he began to pound hard. Her head fell back as he kissed her neck, and she moaned in ecstasy.

Even though I’m partial to historical, I have a great contemporary plot due to this little contest.(Remember the lead up that I had to cut…) So thank you Lust Bites! Maybe later I’ll post everything that I had written originally. (I like it much better.)

Anyway, bye bye for now, happy reading!

The Mother Lode

During my research, I came across a few noteworthy sites.

NaNoWriMo. One month, one book. In Novemember I will be participating in this awesome program. Participants will have exactly one month to complete a 50,000 word, 175 page book. Editing is not the focus, just pure creativity. What a concept.

Another truly awesome site, is the Romance Divas. OK, it’s totally kick ass if you ask me. (spoke straight from the heart, lol) What a valuable source of information. From research links, workshops, and so much more. I found the mother lode with this site. Romance Divas is a great tool for a newbie to have n their hands, that’s for sure.

In my next post I will be working on one of the workshops, Dazzle ‘Em With Description Excercise 1 of 5. So, After dropping the kiddos off at school, I will finish my nights sleep, and then hit the books so to speak.

Will chat soon.

The Plunge

Well, I’ve done it. I finally started to write one of my babies. I have been wanting to do this for years, but I never did. I’m not really sure as to why but it really doesn’t matter now. 😉 I’ve written just about 10, 000 words in 2 days. I think that’s pretty good, even though I’m not sure as to what the norm is. I stopped to make a time line for births, marriages, deaths, and so forth. I then decided to do some research. I want to incorporate real life events that will influence the characters story lines. To be quite honest, it has really changed the original flow of the story. I have to make some changes that saddens me a little. I’ll make it work out, I just know it.

During my online research into the past, I have thought up some awesome new story lines that have got me excited. I cant wait to delve into them, especially one in particular. I have never come across this in a book. I will not say any more on it for now. I will write more later, as for now, to bed I go.
